Six athletes. One villa with a pool. A private chef cooking Portuguese food every night. Mornings running along the coast, afternoons exploring the city, evenings sharing stories over wine.
The Marathon (+half)
Forty two kilometres of coast road, from Carcavelos into the centre of Lisbon. Flat, and quick enough that people come for a personal best.
The start is on the Estrada Marginal at Carcavelos, in five waves six minutes apart, from 8:00 to 8:24. The course runs the Atlantic shoreline through Estoril and Oeiras, passes Belém with the Jerónimos Monastery and the Torre de Belém, then turns into the city and finishes at Praça do Comércio, on the Tagus. Six hours to the cut off.
The entry covers a personalised bib and timing chip, the technical shirt, the bag drop, the finisher medal, sports insurance with medical support, and free public transport on race day. Water, Powerade, fruit, ice cream and protein milk wait at the finish.

Day 01 · Arrival and an easy run together
A private transfer brings you from Lisbon airport to the house, on the cliff at Azenhas do Mar. What Makes This Retreat Special
The house sits on the cliff at Azenhas do Mar, 450 metres from the Atlantic. There is a pool under glass, a garden, and a terrace that holds the sun until evening. We leave the afternoons empty on purpose, because that is the part of the week that does the work. Below the village there is an ocean pool carved into the rock, if you feel like walking down.

Five rooms, two places each, with a private bathroom in every one. Blackout curtains, air conditioning and heating: the night before a marathon is not the night to sleep badly. There are no televisions in the rooms. The house has a washing machine, which after five days of running matters more than it sounds.

Six runners, one race, one house. You do not book a spot, you are selected for one: every house is composed on pace, goals and age, in a band between 26 and 38. For a week the marathon is the ordinary thing everyone at the table is talking about.

Leandro Sugameli is in the house for the whole week: the shake-out on Thursday, the activation on Friday, the course walked through, and the warm-up run together on race morning. Eight Ironman races and eight Hyrox behind him. The last week is his to build.

Our dedicated house leaders live in the villa throughout the week, coordinating meals, logistics, recovery, and the daily rhythm so you can focus only on your race.

FIT CHECK
An honest fit check.
This is for you if...
  • You're over 26
  • You have the Lisbon Marathon on your calendar — or you're serious enough to book it
  • You want the days before the race to feel calm, not chaotic
  • You want someone else to handle the logistics, not another thing on your plate
  • You care about performing well and enjoying every moment
  • You don't need the crowd — you need the right six people
This is not for you if...
  • You just want a cheap flight and a hotel near the start line
  • You're looking for a party trip, not a performance week
  • You'd rather train and travel entirely on your own, no one around
The questions people ask
Everything worth knowing before you leave. If your answer is not here, write to us.
Selection
You apply in a few minutes and pay nothing. A person reads the application, and if the profile fits we call you: twenty minutes on goals, pace and expectations, and for you to ask whatever you want. A room is assigned only after that call. Every house is composed on pace, goals and age.
There is no minimum time. What matters is arriving in October with marathon training behind you, because race week is the taper and not the build. First time marathoners and people chasing a personal best share the same house, and the runs we do together are at easy pace, so the pace never separates anyone.
Six, and they do not change. It is the number of beds in the house, three rooms of two, and it is also the number beyond which a group stops getting to know itself. When the six are assigned, selection for Lisbon closes.
Applying costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If a room is assigned, the deposit is €300 within 7 days of the answer. The balance of €600 by 8 September 2026, thirty days before arrival.
Sprinta
Sprinta runs villa retreats for marathoners: one house per race, ten runners, and everything around the running already arranged. In the house there are a coach, a sports nutritionist, a trail and yoga guide and a chef, the same people you find in the House Leaders section. The company is Medicaly S.r.l.
The flight is yours to book. On this page there is a Skyscanner link already set to Lisbon and the dates of the retreat, so you see the prices without searching. Airport transfers are included, whatever time you land and whatever time your flight home leaves.
Until a room is assigned nothing has been charged. After the deposit, if plans change, the €300 stays available as credit on another Sprinta retreat for twelve months, and the room can pass to another runner.
The race
The bib sits outside the €900. When a room is assigned we buy it in your name, at cost, and add it to the balance. The organiser raises the price as the race fills: €70 for the first 2,000 entries, €95 up to 5,000, €130 after that, plus €4 of transaction fee. Applying early means the lower band. Entries are personal, and the organiser transfers a bib only for documented illness or injury.
Breakfast is served in the dark, at the hour counted back from your start wave. Private transport takes you to Carcavelos and the warm up is done together. The villa waits when you come back, and the afternoon has nothing in it. In the evening everyone eats together.
The week is built around the marathon on Saturday 10 October. The half marathon and the 8K are run on Sunday 11, the day of departure, so the retreat is built for the 42.195 metres.
