A riad a short walk from the medina, ten runners and the Marrakech Marathon. You arrive on Thursday, you run on Sunday morning, you leave on Monday. In between the week is built around the race: the easy runs, the chef, the physio, the transfers. What is left to you is the part that counts.
The Marathon (+half)
Thirty seventh edition, Sunday 31 January 2027. The start is at 07:45 on Avenue de la Menara, and the course runs flat between the city and the palm grove.
The Marathon International de Marrakech runs its thirty seventh edition on Sunday 31 January 2027. The marathon starts at 07:45 on Avenue de la Menara, behind the Sofitel, and finishes in the same place. The course is flat and fast, with a few false flats inside the palm grove, and the cut off is five hours thirty. Aid stations every five kilometres with water and orange slices, sponges from the seventh.
Bibs are collected at Koutoubia Square on 29 and 30 January, from 09:30 to 19:30, and a passport is required. Entries close on 24 January. In January Marrakech wakes up around eight degrees and reaches eighteen in the afternoon, so you start in the cool and finish in the warm.

Full Program
You land at Menara and a quarter of an hour later you are at the door of the riad, in a quiet corner ten minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fna. You open it and the city switches off: what is left is the courtyard, going up two floors to the light. The afternoon is for settling in, and whoever wants to goes up to the roof, where the heated pool is and the terraces run all the way to the Atlas. In the evening we all eat together, ten people running the same race on Sunday.

In the morning we run easy in the palm grove, forty five minutes in two pace groups, between the palms and the red earth. A long breakfast when we get back and half an hour of mobility in the courtyard with Katia. Early in the afternoon we walk to Koutoubia Square to collect the bibs, passport in your pocket. Then the medina at dusk, with someone who knows which turns to take, and dinner at the house.

What Makes This Retreat Special
The house is a riad: six rooms around a courtyard that goes up two floors to the light, a green living room off it, and a roof with a terrace, a sun deck and a heated pool, which in January is a stranger idea than it sounds and a very good one. It sits in a quiet corner ten minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fna and three from Hivernage, so bib collection at Koutoubia Square is a walk and the start at the Menara is a short drive. The afternoons stay empty on purpose, because that is the part of the week that does the work.

Waking up in the riad
The day starts slowly, before breakfast and the taper work.
Around one table
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are shared on the riad terrace.
Fuel for race day
Complete dishes designed by the nutritionist and prepared by the chef.
Ten runners, one race, one house. You do not book a spot, you are selected for one: every house is composed on pace, goals and age, in a band between 26 and 38. For a week the marathon is the ordinary thing everyone at the table is talking about.
Moa is in the riad all week: the easy run on Friday, the activation on Saturday, the course gone through together and the warm up on race morning. A marathon runner, with the Olympic dream ahead of her. She handles the last week with you, without adding anything to the work you have already done.
House Leaders
Our dedicated house leaders live in the villa throughout the week, coordinating meals, logistics, recovery, and the daily rhythm so you can focus only on your race.

Find your flight
You land at Marrakech Menara. From the airport to the riad is a quarter of an hour of private transfer, included in the price. The flight is yours to book.
You have the Marrakech Marathon on your calendar — or you're serious enough to book it
You want the days before the race to feel calm, not chaotic
You want someone else to handle the logistics, not another thing on your plate
You care about performing well and enjoying every moment
You don't need the crowd — you need the right ten people
This is not for you if...
You just want a cheap flight and a hotel near the start line
You're looking for a party trip, not a performance week
You'd rather train and travel entirely on your own, no one around
The questions people ask
Everything worth knowing before you leave. If your answer is not here, write to us.
Selection
You apply in a few minutes and pay nothing. A person reads the application, and if the profile fits we call you: twenty minutes on goals, pace and expectations, and for you to ask whatever you want. A room is assigned only after that call. Every house is composed on pace, goals and age.
There is no minimum time. What matters is arriving in January with marathon training behind you, because race week is the taper and not the build. First time marathoners and people chasing a personal best share the same house, and the runs we do together are at easy pace, so the pace never separates anyone.
Ten, and they do not change. It is the number beyond which a group stops getting to know itself. The house has seven rooms, each with its own bathroom. When the ten are assigned, selection for Marrakech closes.
Applying costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If a room is assigned, the deposit is €300 within 7 days of the answer. The balance of €900 by 31 December 2026, thirty days before arrival.
Sprinta
Sprinta runs riad retreats for marathoners: one house per race, ten runners, and everything around the running already arranged. In the house there are a coach, a sports nutritionist, a trail and yoga guide and a chef, the same people you find in the House Leaders section. The company is Medicaly S.r.l.
The flight is yours to book. On this page there is a Skyscanner link already set to Marrakech and the dates of the retreat, so you see the prices without searching. Airport transfers are included, whatever time you land and whatever time your flight home leaves.
Until a room is assigned nothing has been charged. After the deposit, if plans change, the €300 stays available as credit on another Sprinta retreat for twelve months, and the room can pass to another runner.
The race
The bib sits outside the €1,200. When a room is assigned we buy it in your name, at cost, and add it to the balance. The organiser raises the price as the race fills: €70 for the first 2,000 entries, €95 up to 5,000, €130 after that, plus €4 of transaction fee. Applying early means the lower band. Entries are personal, and the organiser transfers a bib only for documented illness or injury.
Breakfast is served in the dark, at the hour counted back from the eight o'clock gun. Private transport takes you to Parque da Cidade and the warm up is done together. The house waits when you come back, and the afternoon has nothing in it. In the evening everyone eats together.
The week is built around the marathon on Sunday 31 January. The shorter races are run the same morning, so the retreat is built for the 42.195 metres.

Entries are personal. The organiser transfers a bib only for documented illness or injury, so once it is bought it follows their rules rather than ours.
Travel insurance
Take it before you need it
Insurance sits outside the retreat price. For a race week, one cover matters more than the others.
Medical and baggageStandard on almost every travel policy.
Cancellation for injury or illnessThe one that counts. Six months of training end in a single stride, and this is what pays the week back.
The day you take itThe same day the deposit is paid. A policy bought after an injury pays nothing.
Sprinta’s own terms apply whatever the reason. The deposit stays as credit on another retreat for twelve months and the room can pass to another runner. The race bib follows the organiser, who allows a deferral for documented illness or injury.
